Description

It was cloudy last night so I decided to try out some image blending tricks with an image set I recently got of the Lagoon Nebula M8. I've always wanted to keep the detail around the brighter parts while also keeping the fringe details intact so I hit up ol' google and came across Jerry Lodriguss' instructions on how to do so using Photoshop on his website(lots of goodies on his site;)

Here's a link to his instructions on compose two different exposure images using Photoshop. I have PS6 so the process was a bit different as he used an older version from the time he posted the instructions:

The dim and bright images were both the same exposure time and stack set I just turned down/up the brightness in Photoshop. In the future I'll look to collect two image sets with different exposure times.
